Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey was handed a boost in his recovery from a broken leg as the teenager signed a new long-term contract on Tuesday.
Ramsey has been sidelined since suffering fractures to the tibia and fibula in his right leg in a challenge with Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross at the Britannia Stadium in February.
The 19-year-old Wales international, who joined Arsenal from Cardiff in 2008, had begun to establish himself in Arsene Wenger s midfield before the horrific injury and is determined to regain his place when he recovers.
I m very happy here at Arsenal, it s a great club and I ve learned a lot since I ve been here, Ramsey said.
Every player wants to play in a team where they can play football and I feel that this is the way it should be played, so that s one of the reasons I signed a new contract.
Arsenal did not reveal the length of Ramsey s new deal but a statement on th club s website confirmed: Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce Welsh international Aaron Ramsey has committed his future to the Club by signing a new long-term contract.
